RODEO SPECIALTY ACT:
JD Platt - K9 Kings

Rodeo was always a big part of Daniel's life. Anyone who knew Daniel
or met him for the first time, knew one thing, he was a cowboy in
every way.

Daniel died on August 7, 2005 from injuries sustained at a PRCA
rodeo on August 6.  He was 19.

The night before he died, he lived one of his dreams.  He had drawn
Crossfire Hurricane at the Idaho Falls PRCA Rodeo.  Just to have the
chance to put his rope on this great bull had him on Cloud 9.   Though
he did not ride Crossfire for eight seconds, he sure gave him heck for
about five.  He told a television reporter that night while he was being
interviewed on television, “I just want everyone to know that this is
what I do. I'm going to keep doing it until I can't do it anymore.”

After being interviewed, two young boys asked him for his autograph,
a first at a pro-rodeo.  Daniel pulled off his number from his vest,
asked them “What was your favorite event?”  They both replied “Bull
Riding.”  When he realized that he need something to sign for the
other young boy, he crawled under the walkway to pickup a
discarded number and signed it.  Their faces were beaming and they
were so excited.

Those who knew Daniel knew that bull riding was his passion, rodeo
his life and kindness his gift. With the help of his family, friends and
community, we hope that you will join us in making this rodeo an
annual tradition in his hometown.
A portion of the proceeds from this rodeo will be donated to the Idaho Ronald
McDonald House and the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and other
community charities.
